A wide range of materials for cabinetry ranging from budget-friendly to high-end is available in the market. This article introduces some commonly used kitchen cabinet door material and may help you in selecting the kitchen cabinet finish.

1). UV coating (UV is an abbreviation of Ultraviolet.)

Merit: with High gloss, High smooth surface, and the hardness is above 3H. 

Defect: After a period of time, the UV under layer will become orange peel appearance. 

2). High gloss acrylic

Merit: high gloss, brightness, wide selection in color and design, Unfading

Defect: the hardness is inferior to UV, PET 

3). High gloss PETG (Polyethylene terephthalate glycol-modified)

Merit: Unparalleled high gloss, brightness and hardness; PETG also has matte color. 

Defect: only solid colors are available. 

4). PVC cladding

Merit: Unique 3D shape of kitchen cabinet door and 3D decorative kitchen cabinet accessories

Defect: vulnerable in scratching and erosion by cleaning chemicals 

5). Solid wood 

Merit: Natural grain, elegant design, Eco-friendly, 3D shape kitchen cabinet door and 3d decorative kitchen accessories

Defect: in rainy season or winter, it’s maybe out of shape as moisture content of solid wood

6). Melamine finish

Merit: Eco-friendly, wear-resisting, anti-corrosion, economical

Defect: edge banding break easily, lack selection in designs and color

7). Lacquer

Merit: it can be of any sheen level from ultra matte to high gloss, and it can be further polished as 

required; it also can be made in round edge and arc-shaped. 

Defect: vulnerable in scratching 

8). Aluminum 

Merit: water-proof, anti-corrosion, ease to clean
